Hip hop rapper star Keith Alam, a lot more commonly known as Guru, suffered a heart attack on Sunday afternoon and has lapsed into a coma. Guru is expected to undergo surgery at a New York hospital on Monday afternoon
Guru became well-known within the 1980’s when he was a member of Gang Starr. With hits including “Full Clip,” “Just to Get Rep,” and “Words I Manifest” the members from the hip hop world have considered him to be a pioneer from the hip hop and jazz crossover. In addition to Gang Starr Guru has also worked with a number of musicians from pop, electronic, dance and even brass bands.
Well wishing fans are flooding websites with wishes for a speedy recovery and successful surgery. Numerous claiming that Guru is why they like hip hop within the first place.
Guru just recently re released his well-known solo album of 2005 as a digital download and re named it Version 7.0: The Street Scriptures.
Even though Gang Starr’s DJ Premier had planned to appear on Sirius XM’s Hip Hop Nation satellite radio show late Sunday, Guru’s situation is too guarded to supply any further details and Premier did not call in leaving numerous concerned fans anxiously waiting word on his situation.
