50 Cent Dishes Details On Jersey Shore’s DJ Pauly D G-Note Record Deal

50 Cent recently announced which DJ Pauly D had officially become part of his G-Note Records, and now Fif gives us the inside scoop on the offer.

Whether you like the show or hate it, MTV’s hit reality series Jersey Shore has propelled several of the character’s careers to the next level. Pauly D is a perfect example of this, recently signing to 50 Cent’s G-Note/G-Unit Records.

Many people have wondered how this came into existence, and 50 cent recently shed some light in a recent interview with the folks at Rolling Stone.

“When Pauly came by to see me, they had options,” he said. They’d several places they were going, the people that were thinking about doing a deal with him. Obviously, the momentum from Jersey Shore had been spun off in to him being the first one to have their own independent series. They’re moving places and DJing before audiences, and getting ready to make moves internationally, where the DJ is the star, overseas. “When I sat with him, I saw the opportunities we could have moving forward, with brand extension and packaging the music.”
The question on many fans mind is , “Does Pauly D have what it takes to be a music superstar?” Well 50 Cent claims that the secret to creating a superstar lies in the marketing power. Fif should know a thing or two about this considering he was one of the biggest forces to hit the hip hop scene back when Dr. Dre and Eminem were promoting his studio debut, ‘Get Rich or Die Tryin.’

This marketing power is something that 50 Cent believes the record labels overlook when recruiting and promoting new talent, “I don’t think they’re taking into account the marketing dollars it takes to be a superstar.”
