Who is V-Nasty?
V-Nasty was born in San Francisco and moved to Oakland, California when she was ten years old. She is really a third-generation Russian-American, and also the daughter of Elka Zolot, a former member with the San Francisco garage punk band The Trashwomen. Zolot got her initial video camera when she was ten years old, and began documenting her raps at a young age. When she was fifteen years old, her mother moved to Canada, leaving Zolot in Oakland. She lived with her grandfather briefly, till he moved to Los Angeles, leaving Zolot alone. She dropped out of high school shortly thereafter, and spent a number of years living with buddies. She moved into her own location when she was seventeen years old, and ultimately began further exploring her interest in cinematography by shooting videos of buddies and later music videos for nearby rappers like Lil B. Her videos caught the attention of dean Patrick Kriwanekhe, and Zolot attended Berkeley Digital Film Institute having a full scholarship for two semesters. She then moved to Los Angeles to pursue her music video profession.
